Kodi Coming to QNAP NAS Devices

QNAP recently announced that they have added support for Kodi for some of their NAS devices. Kodi is our favorite HTPC frontend, so we’re excited to see it appearing on another platform.

According to QNAP’s Press Release, “Users of x51, x53, x70, x71, x79 and x80 series NAS now can install Kodi in HD Station to enjoy an improved entertainment experience.”

Additionally, QNAP are renaming XBMC 13 to “HD Player” under their HD Station platform. The name change also signifies an improved user interface for more intuitive operations and additional features.

For those of you who aren’t familiar, HD Station is a free app that unifies various multimedia applications and services such as Kodi, YouTube and, Spotify, into a single interface.
