There’s no doubt that Xiaomi is going on a bit of a product releasing frenzy at the moment, unvieling a number of new products including a new TV box and an awesome-looking black variant of their excellent Xiaomi stereo Bluetooth speaker.
Xiaomi have added a great looking geometric 3D-looking pattern on to the front speaker grill, replacing the minimalist white grill on the original version.
It also seems that they’ve beefed up the speakers to dual 2.5W drivers, rather than the two 1.8W drivers in the original. This means the new model should be capable of pumping out more power.
The rest of the specs seem to be unchanged, with the speaker retaining it’s Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility and in-built 1200mAh battery that should hit the rated 10 hours based on my experience with the original.
Inside the box, you’ll get the Xiaomi stereo Bluetooth speaker and a Chinese instruction manual.
If you’re interested in reading more about how it should perform, read my review on the white variant.

hi! may i know the charging hours for this Model?
Hi, Michael.
Thanks for reviews,
I know you tested all Xiaomi Stereo Speakers. What is your personal preference, which one is your favorite of the three speakers?
It’s really a matter of budget and features. The $24 model is exceptional value given its sound quality but the new model has some great features and is louder though I’m not a fan of the colors available. I’d say, if you’ve got the budget, go for the newer one but you won’t be disappointed with either.
ah nuts!!
Seems like you’re always horrified when Xiaomi release a new speaker! New unibody one sounds good, though it uses lots of spoken Chinese notifications which makes it seem less friendly than the previous model.
Yeah need to build a bridge and get over it!
